The city and the county
Cumming government
Cumming runs under a mayor and council form of government. The current mayor is Troy Brumbalow, elected in November 2017 and sworn in January 2018, serving with a five-member city council elected city-wide by Post to staggered four-year terms.
Forsyth County, of which Cumming is the seat, operates under a commission-manager form: a five-member Board of Commissioners elected from single-member districts appoints a county manager and meets in regular session on the first and third Thursdays of each month.
