Flowery Branch hugs the south shore of Lake Lanier along the old railroad line, its downtown still reading as a depot town two minutes from the water. It keeps a village Saturday rhythm, farmers market and live music in season, while docks, charters, and the lake-facing restaurant rooms pull the week.

Compton Bell Farms
A nearby family farm with deep local history sits on Lanier Islands Parkway, minutes from Flowery Branch. There were no railroads or dirt roads passing through. Just a trail leading to the Chattahoochee River carved into these woodlands by the Creek and Cherokee Indians. And in 1843, Jonathan Beard, the son of a decorated Revolutionary War soldier, bought, settled, lived and died on 109 acres of a 240-acre land grant initiated by President Andrew Jackson. The same family has farmed the land since 1843.
