Loganville sits on the Gwinnett-Walton line, and its best days split between the big county parks on the Gwinnett side and the downtown block on the Walton side. Nothing here is a full day of theater; the honest version is parks, breakfast, and a long afternoon outside.
The Main Street block
Downtown Loganville runs a short, real Main Street: Toast'D Up for brunch, Miss Dot's Diner and Sweet Shop for the cake case, and A Bite To Eat on the highway side for the dinner table. AutumnFest takes the whole block in October and the street fills with the city's biggest day.
The big parks
Bay Creek Park on Ozora Road is the Gwinnett flagship: seven ballfields, a lighted walking track, a skate park, tennis and basketball courts, and a playground built for children with special needs. Vines Park on Oak Grove Road carries the garden half, with its lake, rose garden, and the little train display for the under-ten set.
The season and the drive
The farm-gate stands on the surrounding roads (the Crow's Nest market on Highway 81, Three Peas in a Pod on the Lawrenceville side) carry the harvest, and Lawrenceville's square and Lake Lanier sit a short drive up the highways. The winter answer is the same as the summer one: the parks, the block, and the honest food.
