Loganville's parks split the county line: the big Gwinnett County parks sit on the north and east edges, and the city parks hold the Walton side of town. Bay Creek and Vines carry the long afternoons, and the lake country begins a short drive up the highways.
Bay Creek Park
The Gwinnett flagship on Ozora Road runs about 154 acres: seven baseball and softball fields, a football field with a lighted walking track around it, a lighted skate park, basketball and tennis courts, paved walking trails, pavilions, and a playground built for children with special needs. It is the Saturday sports hub of the east side.
Vines Park
Vines Park on Oak Grove Road brings the garden half, about 79 acres beside the Vines Mansion: a lake, a half-mile paved loop, the rose garden and the Asian garden with the garden railroad display, a community garden, playgrounds, and picnic pavilions. It is the slow half, and the mansion behind it is the venue for weddings and events.
The city parks
- Destination Park and the Loganville Toddler Park for the under-ten set on the Walton side.
- The county standbys of the Snellville side, Briscoe and Lenora, a short drive across the line.
When the county parks are finished, Lake Lanier's south shore and the Gainesville parks sit about thirty minutes north, and the lake roundup in the Buford and Lake Lanier guide carries that next afternoon.
