History & Significance
The Elijah Winn House is one of the most historically significant structures in Gwinnett County. Built around 1812, this historic home served as the site where Gwinnett County's first elections were held and where the first inferior court was established in 1818.
Elijah Winn, a prominent early settler, offered his home to serve as the temporary county courthouse until a permanent structure could be built in Lawrenceville. Today, the house stands as a beautifully preserved piece of early 19th-century architecture and a testament to the area's rich heritage.

The Elisha Winn Fair: Every October, the historical society hosts a lively fair on the grounds, featuring historical reenactments, traditional crafts, live music, and tours of the home and outbuildings. It's a fantastic family-friendly event that brings history to life.
